THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK ?

How can that not make you excited to see a SW sequel?

The Empire Strikes Back is far and away the best title in the saga. It evokes so much while also really tapping into the tradition of serialized sci-fi/fantasy Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon type films that inspired George. It's just perfect.

I think ESB is hokey too but it works for exactly the reasons you said. AOTC is easily the hokiest aiming for that ESB element but it goes too far into cheese. The clone wars would have been a better title.

ESB is the hokiest of the OT though.

I think Return of the Jedi is the worst title in the OT. To me, it has that same tinge that AotC has. It's just a hair too far.

Really?? No way man. Return of the Jedi is easily the best of the lot imo.

I don't think any of them are flat bad. But RotJ is the one I like the least of the three. RotS is also not a great title. I think it works as a rhyme to RotJ. But on it's own it's pretty flat. Though "Revenge" is certainly a more evocative and active world that "Return." But "Return" has that whole fantasy tradition thing going for it. So there's that.

Well if they split it in to two films you have even more fun :)

*laughing at everyone speculating at the next / last avengers title. It’s gonna just be infinity war part two. Lol.

They fucked up sacking Wendig but they have to be seen to distance themselves from podcasts like rebel force radio that revealed themselves recently to be women hating gay hating etc etc trumptards.

Easier to wipe out all affiliations than be seen to pick on a few.

Think we’re all sad about that. Blame JJ.

I dunno. I guess I'm in the minority here because it really doesn't bother me.

In the grand scheme of things me neither. The luke and Leia reunion was really all that I needed and it’s all fhe more powerful for not getting the big four back together.
And R2 and Luke also is sob inducing for me anyways

It'dve been cool, but I'm not mad about it. You got Han and Leia. Luke and R2. Luke and Leia. Luke and Chewie. You're about to get Lando and L3 in this next one. It's gonna break your heart, man.

I do wonder will we see something with Lando and the falcon and l3

It’s funny someone spotted a nice tie back. In Empire when they’re stuck to the star destroyer the navigational computer (L3) suggests Lando and Bespin to Han :)
It’s there or not depending on your take but I like it :)

I thought he was just flipping thru the “map” and came upon Bespin. I don’t remember it suggesting anything.

Oh no, I never thought of Lando in Episode IX and him with the Falcon, possibly tying into SOLO.

UGH
