Recent Maron episodes I've listened to:
Kristen Bell - This was better than I expected. Dax Shepherd is a doofus, but she seems quite lovely and playful.
Anna Faris - This was embarrassing. I could practically hear Maron's boner hitting the underside of his desk. He's so bad at flirting. I hope Sarah the Painter gave him hell.
Slash - This was better than I expected too.
The more I listen to his podcast the more I realize that Dax loves talking over people. He needs to cut it out. Also he's got the worst laugh I've ever heard...he sounds like a rabid squirrel or something.

Heavyweight is one of my favourites. So glad to see it pop up today. I’ve been on holiday for ten days and the pods are backing up. I’m almost keen to get back to work so I can listen to these while commuting.

It’s too hard to find good podcasts. There are so many shitty ones.
That feeling when you read the description of a podcast and get super excited, only to listen to it and realize it's shit is a very particular kind of disappointment.
Sooooo much rides on voices, pacing, and format. It’s tricky to get right.
Also when it's just a skype recording and the levels don't match I want to find whoever made it and strangle them.

Van Morrison is one of the great musicians of his generation. His 1968 album Astral Weeks is said to be one of the finest albums of all time. We visit Boston, LA and New York to hear the story of that summer and reunite, for the first time in 50 years, the musicians who played on Astral Weeks – bar one. Narrated by Richard Dormer (2018)
Brillo listen. Documentary on one. This week about the making of astral weeks

Heavyweight makes me cry every single week. And it's not even a sad show! The emotion is just so real and perfectly captured, I can feel it. It's so full of people doing the right thing for good reasons
Decoder Ring is a podcast about cracking cultural mysteries. Every month host Willa Paskin, Slate’s TV critic, takes on a cultural question, object, idea, or habit and speaks with experts, historians, and obsessives to try to figure out where it comes from, what it means, and why it matters.
Today: Who gets to decide if Sherlock Holmes is gay? For more than a century, fans of Sherlock Holmes have been analyzing, debating, and creating new texts using Arthur Conan Doyle’s characters. Decoder Ring explores the Johnlock conspiracy, a fan theory about the BBC TV show Sherlock, which posits the inevitability of a gay romance between Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. With interviews from historians, journalists, and fans at the heart of this controversial idea, this episode explores the theory, how it played out in the real world, and whether this kind of fandom is a meaningful way of interacting with fiction.
If you listen to this week's episode of Up and Vanished... the conversation Payne has with Catfish is exactly what I imagine a chat between Dev and tree would be like.
