In Our Time is back from their summer break, motherfuckers! Who's ready to listen to three British academics discuss The Iliad for 48 minutes? ::fire emoji:: ::fire emoji:: ::fire emoji:: ((airhorn sound)) ((airhorn sound))

It’s too hard to find good podcasts. There are so many shitty ones.
That feeling when you read the description of a podcast and get super excited, only to listen to it and realize it's shit is a very particular kind of disappointment.

Sooooo much rides on voices, pacing, and format. It’s tricky to get right.

Someone recommended The Mind Palace to me, anyone have experience with it? It looks short and has 101 episodes.
I listened to the first ten episodes and it's like a muted Radiolab. The commercials take up half the time of the show, though I imagine that gets better as the episodes move on. Plus it helps that by subscribing I got the newest episode and it really does sound like Radiolab and shows a natural progression from the earliest episodes. Not sure if I'll stick with it, but then even the newer episodes are usually less than 15 minutes so it won't be that bad.
