Bahahaha seriously? Are you 5?

I don’t know. I’m not the one constantly posting in a forum in a desperate cry for attention. You tell me.

Holy crap, I loved this.

Only vague spoilers, nothing major:

Spoiler: show
After a playful intro sequence featuring Alec Baldwin as the line-dropping, foul-mouthed host of some bizarre 60's white power educational film, we're launched into one of Spike Lee's boldest works yet. It's not perfect, but it's a top-tier Spike Lee Joint.

And for the first 2/3 of the film, it's also one of his lightest, most enjoyably conventional films, and therefore one of his most subversive.

Denzel Jr and Adam Driver have terrific chemistry, and the dialogue is often laugh-out-loud funny. Great turns from Topher Grace, Jasper Pääkkönen (this guy rules!), Paul Walter Hauser, Ashlie Atkinson, Harry Belafonte, Isiah Whitlock Jr. (Clay "Shiiiiiiiiiiit" Davis from The Wire), Michael Bushemi, and basically everyone else in a true ensemble performance based around our two main characters. I could easily watch these two characters for multiple seasons on Netflix or something.

And then comes the third act, and I'll just say the tone shifts considerably and sort of goes all over the place. Spike becomes a lot more direct with the messages he wants to convey, and the entire third act is sort of bookended by these two long, somber sequences; but he also has to wrap up his buddy comedy. It's a tough landing to stick, and he kind of leans on some old tricks, right down to the the weird tracking shot he's been doing for a while and the exact same closing musical cue from Inside Man.

But by the time the credits were rolling, my wife was on the verge of tears, my buddy and I were just sort of stunned, and yet we had laughed and been highly entertained for the majority of the film.

It was bold and fun and silly and dark. It's Spike swinging for the fences, and it easily makes my top five along with Do the Right Thing, Jungle Fever, Inside Man, and 25th Hour.

TL;DR: It's basically Nice Guys with an extremely heavy dose of social messaging, and I loved it.

Hereditary

Was there a different cut of the film shown in theaters than what is available on Prime because I was under the impression this was suppose to be 'scary' and 'suspenseful' and 'not boring'?

Strat we're watching Oceans 8 this weekend, if you wanna hop in your car now.

Joe did you see my review of Blackkklansman? Would leave to hear your thoughts, I think you mentioned you saw it but I couldn't find any sort of review. I can't stop thinking about it!
