in defense of this show, E5 (Calhoun Day) was fairly strong in its execution. The whole civil war reenactment/lawn party setting was really well shot, and the drama played out mostly pretty well against that.
But holy crap, this guy is still just so awful. Not sure if it's a writing issue or a casting/performance issue, but every time he comes on screen what little good will the show may have garnered instantly goes out the window. He is really horrible.

Just saw ep 2. Man, they really try to sell this one as a complex and profound show. What a boring piece of shit. The book is way better than this travesty.

I still really like this. I was falling behind and watched 2 episodes in one day, and I do feel like it would be even better if binged--the structure makes so much of trauma being a collection of memories, feelings, experiences, etc. that are experienced simultaneously and outside of time that watching all of this back-to-back-to-back would probably pile it on even more (in a good way).
