I don't know if it's Solo or the long gap until next December, but my Star Wars enthusiasm is gone. I can't even drag my ass into this forum on a daily basis.

So in Thrawn: Alliances... Vader will have memories from when he was Anakin but he says those aren't his memories, those are "The Jedi's" memories. Vader constantly refers to Anakin as "The Jedi."
For me, this completely changes the meaning of the title of "Return of the Jedi." Now, in my mind, it's "Return of The Jedi." That's some fucking baller retconning, team.

I dunno about the Jedi / ROTJ. You can have it mean either but it’s always meant him rather than the Jedi plural
Who? Anakin? I always thought it referred to the Jedi retuning in the form of Luke. It’s never occurred to me that it would be in reference to Anakin.
Apparently it always meant Anakin. And that’s nit a retcon george made around the prequels. It was always the case. It’s such a weird hair to split but I love that it means him directly.

I don’t like that at all.

That’s the good thing about SW: there’s so much cra- uh stuff now that you can pick and choose what you deem canon or not.
I choose to believe Return of the Jedi refers to Luke becoming a Jedi and bringing them back to the galaxy. His father helped him defeat the emperor, but it wasn’t his story. It’s Luke’s.

Just realised Yodas first words to both Anakin and Luke are almost exactly the same. And their answers are almost the same too... ‘How feel you?’ (‘Scared Sir’)
My co-worker and I were talking about Disney musicals on Broadway and it occurred to me that we probably aren't too far off from a Star Wars musical.
I'm guessing if they make one, it'll be like Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a new original canon story. Which makes sense. But I honestly think, in this case, it might actually be smarter to just adapt the original film. It already has the ideal structure. It's a simple story. Clear hero's journey. Uncomplicated villain. Self-contained story: farm boy seeks adventure and saves the the galaxy.
To be clear, I'm not advocating EVER making a stage adaptation of Star Wars. I'm just saying that IF it's gonna happen, maybe adapt the film instead of making a new story.
