There are some great songs on the Postal Service album but I like both "We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes" and "The Photo Album" a lot more. I can see where one would feel differently though.

Been listening to the "Her" album. It's good, if a little hard to search information on as there's an act called H.E.R. and just all of the general "her" on the internet. It was a total random find so I didn't know anything about the band prior but I like it. It fits in with all of the jazz I've been listening to lately, somehow.
i've gotten into Pile recently, and hope they put something new out this year. i saw they're releasing Odds and Ends, but from what i understand it's all older material that's never had a proper release aside from compilations.

i know i'm supposed to like that new Mitski album bc all the cool blogs and kids are telling me to, but holy shit it's boring
I haven't heard the new one but I tried to get into the previous albums, partly because of positive words here. Haven't managed to make it stick, not interested enough to keep trying.

Not sure if I'm missing anything but this would be my ranking so far, I really like all of these albums a lot.
1-Hop Along - Bark Your Head Off, Dog 2-Parquet Courts - Wide Awake 3-Screaming Females - All at Once 4-U.S. Girls - In a Poem Unlimited 5-A.A.L. (Against All Logic) - 2012 - 2017 6-Trace Mountains - A Partner to Lean On 7-Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy (Face to Face) 8-Courtney Barnett - Tell Me How You Really Feel 9-Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks - Sparkle Hard 10-Soccer Mommy - Clean 11-Janelle Monáe - Dirty Computer 12-The Breeders - All Nerve
Also the new Mitski just leaked and I'm super excited about that one.
This is a pretty good list. The bolded ones are on my list.
Still think the album of the year bar none is Sleep's The Sciences. Everything about it...from be a complete surprise 4/20 drop, to it being the best thing they've done in year (also pretty much only thing, but still) to the following tour. I have extremely high expectations for High On Fire's new record after hearing the Motorhead-esque single.
I dig the new Mitski a lot. Maybe not of my favorites of the year, but really good.
Also, big fan of this band out of Chicago called Retirement Party - really great 90s slacker/emo/party vibes. Their new record "Somewhat Literate" is on my list.
Finally, while many consider the new Pusha T to be the best Kanye-produced thing this year, I still really dig the KIDS SEE GHOSTS record. It's batshit crazy in a good way.

The new Interpol is absolutely badass. It boggles my mind that so many asshat critics just bash it as if it’s garbage. What the hell are they listening to?
T. Hardy Morris (Dead Confederate, Diamond Rugs, Hardy & the Hardknocks) has a new album out, "Dude, the Obscure." Looking forward to digging into this.
