I am finding a bunch of songs that fit perfectly except for the fact that they came out just after our 2005 cutoff (including that New Found Glory cover of "Kiss Me"). Everyone alright with extending the cutoff to like 2007? It'll give us about a dozen more terrible songs to work with, including "Welcome to the Black Parade".

Okay, I feel pretty good about the song selection. Trimmed it down to a neat 128. Eliminated "Monkey Wrench", "What I Got", "Stacy's Mom" and a few other songs that never felt like they really belonged. We'll kick off when the nu-metal tournament ends.

Yeah I just listened to both songs and they feel completely removed from the pop-punk sound. "What I Got" is built on an acoustic guitar hook, has programmed drums, a weird Jamaican-accented rap, a turntable. It's not skanky, it's not whiny, it's not punky. It sounds more like a Sugar Ray song than anything else. "Stacy's Mom" is just a new-wavey pop-rock song. With the other outliers in this lineup, at least there's a shared sort of whinyness, like in the case of "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)". Look, I can knock off a Green Day and a Blink song each if people really want to include them, but they seem completely ill-fitting to me in sound, aesthetic and feel.
