What I don’t know is how anyone thinks Inception is confusing or complicated
I mean, it's complicated, but it isn't confusing.
I’ve sat beside many people on many planes and fallen asleep and haven’t broken into their minds or subconscious
Not a dog on the movie just something I don’t get
That's... that's weird, Dave. I'm not sure what to tell you.
I watched the doco on dreaming and subconscious on the extras before hand. On shared dreaming. You’d have to have some sort of commonality with the person. It doesn’t just happen you can break into someone’s dream. What did I miss
Are you being serious right now? I really can't tell.
I am actually being serious. I don’t get it
I've held my hand out and concentrated really hard and focused and never been able to make a rock move or read someone else's thoughts. What am I missing?

Ok I really liked that. Doesn’t matter if he got out or is still in there. He’s finally forgiven himself and banished his demons and guilt. The whole thing was just a big metaphor for getting therapy and helping yourself heal I reckon.

I fucking hate Fight Club. Probably an unpopular opinion on here, but I just don't get the love for it. Maybe it's my apathy towards anything Ed Norton does, or the fact that I find it boring and a little sad to see grown men blowing off steam by fighting each other. Morons.
I like the last 30 mins or so, but that's about it.

I listen to a weekly podcast called the cinefiles where they’d break down and go into a pre 2000 and go into all its themes n stuff. Fight club they did a two parter on, hence the rewatch and it really changed the way I saw the film. And others they’ve done. I’ve always liked fight club though so I’m probably biased.

I think it is supposed to come off as a little pathetic
Yeah. I love the movie (shocking, right?) and feel it's intended to be a satire on the man-child behavioral response to modern societal changes.

i think one major problem the movie has is the casting and stylization of Brad Pitt. It maybe plays less like the intended satire because he is made to look so edgy and cool. Jack's getting together with Marla in the end doesn't help either, because that's a classic hero's ending.

But...he's supposed to look cool because he's supposed to be an alluring vision of badass maleness.

Yeah and they nailed it, and it makes sense given that he's a figment of Jack's imagination. But I think the satire aspect gets lost on a lot of viewers -- it certainly got lost on me when I was 18 -- because the badass maleness played way stronger than the absurdity of it all.

^I definitely got the satirical aspect of the film, it seemed pretty clear when I first watched it. I don't know, there's just something about the film that bugs the crap out of me.
I kinda enjoy the first half of the movie, I guess. It's when the group gets bigger and essentially become terrorists, it turns to shit for me.
Fight Club is an amazing piece of art. The novel and the film are both stand-outs in their respective genres/mediums. The film is easily one of the greatest pieces of cinema of its decade. Furthermore, in my humble opinion, it's one of the most important, competent, moving, poignant, and entertaining American films of all time. It is damn near perfect. What Fincher did in adapting that novel and it's inherent themes to the screen is, without hyperbole, nothing short of genius.

I was just about to come here and post this word for word. Now I don't have to
