Awesome project, what do you think an "Alternative Live version" for those performance with huge difference respect studio record
- Lukin slow - Fast wash - In my tree improv - No Jeremy - Garden 00
Thats a lot of them depending the year (I'm not thinking about Do the Evolution he ho feedback but maybe yes in new Corduroy guitar bridge)
Yeah like this idea a lot actually. Might be difficult to define "alternate" though.
One that comes to mind is a roughly 10min version of Corduroy from one of the Salt Lake City 95 shows I think.
Maybe - I don't really care for most of the 'alternate' versions but it could be a nice 'bonus disc'. Alternate Corduroy would definitely have to be the 1996 Bridge School version
I think the beauty of such a compilation would be multiple alternates of the same song

Here is the list of nominations of versions received to date for the songs that will feature on the Covers discs.
Basically, any cover song that has been played by the band 10 or more times will be included, along with any that the band has recorded in the studio for official release (i.e. 'Better Things', 'Again Today').
I also thought that since they weren't featured on the other discs, 'It's Okay' and 'Save It For Later' should probably be included here (the later was played in a full-ish fashion after Better Man had stopped on 2006-05-17). Thoughts about this? (or including other frequent tags?)

It's unfortunate that the inclusion of "Chloe Dancer" requires you to use a later version of "Crown of Thorns," which was best in its Vegas 2000 incarnation.

Not necessarily! See Untitled/MFC on the Yield disc

I Got a Feeling at Den Haag '92 was always my favorite. Can't remember the Amsterdam one off-hand. Is there something that puts it over the top?
I'm partial to Fortunate Son from Nashville '03, with Corin Tucker and Steve Earle. But maybe it makes sense to exclude the guests. Alpine Valley was a really spirited version.
My vote is for the Jones Beach It's Ok. The Gorge 2006 version always gets me too. It's got some extra emotion that it doesn't always have.
My favorite Won't Back Down is still the first one, 3/9/94. I know it's not soundboard. I remember the quality being decent, but it probably won't work.
The Wrigley '16 Masters of War was as good or better than Fenway, but Fenway was pretty great.
Hard to vote against the Atlanta 94 Sonic Reducer.
I'd add Saratoga and Manchester 2000 to the Timeless Melody choices.

Thank you for putting this fantastic compilation together ridleybradout. This project helped me get through a major bathroom remodel in my house. When I finished listening to Lightning Bolt, I just went back to Ten and listened all the way through again. I'm looking forward to the Covers disc(s) you are working on.
