The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
What's a good PS4 game for someone who like to punch, kick and shoot things in a (mostly) open world environment but hates crafting shit, casting spells and dying a lot?
good: Uncharted Series, Last of Us, GTA, Doom, FPS with good campaigns
bad: Horizon, Far Cry Primal, Bloodborne, online multiplayer shit
Horizon's crafting is pretty minimal. I don't think I ever had to grind to find items. Just killed dinosaurs and collected the rewards.
Yeah, I recommend Horizon. I rented it for a couple days and liked it quite a bit. Anybody want to let me borrow their copy?
I basically don't want to do any crafting or foraging for sticks and rocks. I own Horizon and put 3-4 hours into it. It's not for me.
Mad Max looks like it would be up my alley, but reviews are mixed...
I really liked Mad Max and would give it my recommendation. No real crafting to speak of, just basic car/weapon/armor upgrades paid for with the in-game resource (scrap) and ability upgrades (achieved through gameplay). Scrap is a little tough to come by early in the game but you can use a few exploits to get enough and once you open a zone up you just earn it automatically. After the first couple of hours i was never low on scrap for anything i needed. Really satisfying melee and car combat.
Have you played Shadow of Mordor? That might be up your alley as well, though some of the uruk captain fights can be frustrating (and rewarding).

Hmm, Mad Max is sounding better and better. I think I do have a digital copy of Shadow of Mordor. Can't remember why I bailed on it. I should give it another try.

I didn't really care for the volcano bubblegum lava level in Super Mario Odyssey. It annoyed me for some reason.
I'm on that now on my new play-through. It's one of my favorites! So colorful and the characters are great. I love swimming around as lava guy and you can be hammer turtle again!
