Do you like little bits of jalapeno and garlic in your hushpuppies? I am a fan but rarely encounter it.
garlic for sure (or garlic powder/garlic powder. i prefer actual fresh garlic). i love mine with a little kick, so i also like jalapenos. if no jalapenos, then cayenne. tiny diced onions or green onions too. the missing ingredient that is often overlooked is just a little sugar.
Yeah, big fan of the green onions in my hushpuppies. This sugar thing sounds wacko, but I'll buy it. What's your preferred condiment?
we always had some sort of cajun or remoulade sauce. seemed pretty standard growing up, so haven't really had others. if it's a really good pup though, no sauce needed
I'm also a big fan of remoulade. One place we went to in NC just did butter and honey and that was fine too. I wonder if malt vinegar would work?

i've got a craving for it now, too. there's a good southern bbq spot walking distance from our place, about a quarter-mile. they cook and smoke all their own meat out in the parking lot behind the building. no hushpuppies unfortunately, but if the wind is right, you can smell BBQ all over our backyard.

Yeah, that smell as you approach the smokehouse makes my pupils dilate.

they opened up a new bbq spot even closer to us about a year ago, which makes two BBQ places within a tenth of a mile of each other. the second one is Texas style, so i'm glad they aren't the same. although i don't know how many people around here know the difference. the Texas style place also has a remote kitchen (they have 2 locations), and you can absolutely tell the difference

One of the voting pins on the ad they are using to promote this rock the vote thing says "ballot on fleek". I need to have a pin from Pearl jam that says that. That is what I'll be doing that day. Nothing else until I get that pin

Just announced for MT:
We will be LARPing John Woo's 1997 masterpiece Face/Off. Start working on your lines now, because I expect this to be performed flawlessly in the stadium parking lot.

P. I. G. is legit AF. I worked for a Missoula company for about 6 months. Couple of good brewery/restaurants, great music store, great warm and friendly pacific NW vibe, college town. I would live there if I could.
