Ahh, Amorphis, haven't kept up with them lately. Certainly a fitting name for a band whose sound has changed so much over the years. Started with traditional death metal, then got more melodic and put out gems like 'Elegy' and '...Thousand Lakes'. Then got a little too soft and mainstream for me with albums like 'Far from the Sun'....

Oh man, I've been sleeping on Cavalera Conspiracy's Psychosis. Max releases so much mediocre music that it's easy to lose track, but it seems like he does something special every once in a while. I'd say this is the first of those special albums since Soulfly's Enslaved. It's heavy as fuck.

That's my problem with Max too. So hard to keep up with his output but i'll check out that new one for sure.

IMO, the three truly worthwhile post-Sepultura Max releases are Soulfly’s Dark Ages and Enslaved, and now this. There are some other good tracks scattered on other records, but from front-to-back, I think these are all you need.
It’s nice to hear some of the industrial soundscapes on this one; seems like Nailbomb was on his mind. Loving the Godflesh vibes on this track:
