In my limited opinion, Roth was easily the greatest living American author. The few books and short stories of his I read were tremendous and difficult and rewarding. I still remember reading the opening to Goodbye Columbus and getting the same feeling I received after reading the opening to The Great Gatsby - that this was the work of a generational, peerless talent. We don't get many talents like Roth and honestly we probably deserve even fewer.

Oh, Alan Thicke, I yearn and miss you every morning when I wake. You're body was an experience and your laugh, infectious. I want you in my dreams, but it doesn't happen as often as it should. Miss you, miss you real much

A poem for you, Alan:
In grief we represent frequent buyers of life. In life we return what we bought for you in death. I don't completely understand where you are, love And I don't care to know, really. Because in my heart you pump the pump that pumps my heart. Miss you like I miss chowder.
