Hop Along, Courtney Barnett, and Car Seat Heardrest are all in heavy rotation for me. I've got Janelle Monae sitting on deck.

I feel like Sparkle Hard might finally be the album that introduces Malkmus’s oddball songwriting to casual fans. It’s such a well rounded album.

I like the new Car Seat Headrest and the new Parquet Courts, but both require more listens from me.

Solid Silk and Middle America are two of the best songs Wilco never wrote.

What does it sound like and would I like it

Bedroom pop, kinda stripped down, in parts sounds like Best Coast but with far better lyrics. I think Reid would dig her, not sure about you.

I was about to interject to say that me and trag have similar taste in these sorts of things, but then I realized that you were quoting Jorge. Damn you, mobile mode RM.

Gaz Coombes of Supergrass fame released a solo this year, World's Strongest Man. As you'd expect, bit of funk overtones here, over a poppy base. At its best it's very good. Here's "Walk the Walk":

Gave Soccer Mommy a listen on the way home yesterday. Maybe not the best music for a bike ride, but I was definitely intrigued enough to want to listen again.

I like it so far. The first track at least reminds me of Julien Baker

It reminds me of Josh Rouse's first album (not that that means anything much).

Beautiful stuff. Features Linda May Han Oh, who made one of my favorite albums of last year Walk Against Wind, on the double bass
