Yes, I am also a fan. The new songs sound like they’d fit well on the last LSP album. On the one hand, I love that album, but on the other, I’d like that sound to stay on the LSP side of the fence.
It’s never going to happen, but a ten track album of songs like Evil Twin would be a dream come true.

euhmmm.... I'm on my first spin now....
Not sure what to think. I can appreciate they try something new, but it doesnt always work.
First, Matt Helders is one kickass rockdrummer, but he doesn't have the right groove for soulfull songs like this. Even Matt Cameron has more soul groove haha. Luckily for them teh bassplayer makes up for it, at times he really saves this record from being really bad.
Secondly, what the hell is Alex singing about haha. I always really really dug his lyrics, this time I need to listen to them a couple of times. He sounds a bit like a madman, hope he is doing fine.
I love this band and I really like the way the keep growing. So I should be open to this, let it grow. Hopefully it will be better in a while. If not, I really hope they redeem themselves soon...
Alex should leave LA soon and go back to Sheffield

I have only listened once, so here are some initial random thoughts:
1) I have underrated O’Malley’s skill as a bass player because Helders is usually grabbing all of the attention. 2) This is no more an Arctics record than Into the Wild is a PJ record. 3) There is not a single on this record. 4) This is the perfect record for teenage girls in love with Alex the poet, but are there any teenage girls left who love him? AM was 5 years ago. 5) The LSP comparisons are unfair. LSP has great hooks and catchy melodies and choruses. 6) This record would have been great 20 years ago as a cd with liner notes and lyrics. 7) I will probably listen to this for a while and then forget it. 8) The next Arctics record will be billed as “the first proper Arctic Monkeys record since 2013 unless you count the 2018 experimental Turner solo album Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino.” 9) This makes No Code sound like Thriller. 10) No. 1 Party Anthem is better than all 11 of these songs.
