Oh wow. Just thinking. Was that the one where the guy stops time just as a nuke is about to hit? That episode fuckin haunts me.

Nick of time was when Shatner and his wife wind up in a small town because their vehicle crapped out on them, and he (Shatner) winds up getting addicted to the ambiguous answers that the fortune teller machine is giving him in the diner

Ah right. What’s the one I’m thinking of I wonder

I think you're getting 2 eps confused. There's "Time Enough At Last" (bookworm bank worker who everyone hates goes into the vault to read on his lunch break and the world is destroyed, leaving only him and an endless supply of books, but then he breaks his glasses)

Also "A Kind Of Stopwatch" (a blabbermouth office worker gets a stopwatch that can stop time. he ends up using it for nefarious purposes, but then ends up breaking it while time is stopped, leaving him alone in silence for forever)

Ahhhh, you were thinking of this one, from the new series: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Little_Peace_and_Quiet

I've never really watched any of those

I don’t think so cos I saw the one I mean as a really young boy. It freaked me out. The world around him was frozen and there was a nuclear missle up over the city and he couldn’t restart time because of it.

Might not have been twilight sone but I think it was. We had a show here called tales of the unexpected. It could have possibly been on that.

The Disneyland Tower of Terror was replaced by some shitty Marvel ride.

I love this show, but it does suffer from that particular brand of stiff 50s/60s TV acting.

Probably my biggest complaint with Alfred Hitchcock Presents as well.

That being said, The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street lives up to the hype.

Crazy good.

Time Enough At Last is one of the best ever.

Fair point, but some of the finest moments of the series could've have taken place without the tenseness/stiffness of some of the acting. It kinda "worked"

Yeah, sometimes.

When depicting "clean American living" and the dangers that lurk underneath (like the aforementioned Maple Street episode), it helped illustrate the point.

Watching "The After Hours" on the DVR on a slow work morning. Another one of my "top" eps. The mood they set in the department store after everyone goes home is so perfect.

Marsha...Marsha...Maaaarsha? Who do you think you're fooling, Marsha?

Come on dear, climb off it.

Enjoying a lazy Memorial Day morning with a pot of French Press and some TZ.

Watching "The Man In The Bottle" right now. A store owner and his wife, nearing bankruptcy, stumble upon a genie in a bottle that grants them 4 wishes. Each wish obviously turns out to bite them in the ass, and at the end of it, they prefer to leave their lives as is. Hokey ep, but hokey TZ's are still awesome.

The seriousness and investment of the acting is one trait that made TZ great.
