Absolutely. Rarely did that, but rented games there often.

Hell, I remember renting VCRs.

Long story short, one of my friends came to visit shortly after the release of the N64. We rented that plus Mario Kart and Turok and had a blast playing them. He would laugh because I'd be playing Turok and the bugs on the ground would keep killing me because I never thought to look down as it was my first FPS.

Nice work, chud, very impressive! I’m pretty sure that’s faster than I’ve ever completed that level. That level was built the night I bought Mario Maker. It was my second level ever. The first was called “Bust”.

If I remember correctly, I liked the “spooky chud” level quite a lot. I’ll have to turn the system on and give it a go tonight.

Just played “spooky chud” passed on the fourth try. That’s a fun level, chud. The right amount of challenge and reasonable pass-ability.

Now we're talking. Loved this. I kept dying at the very beginning part with the big jumps along the bottom, but that was mostly due to my impatience. The timing of enemies/cannonballs in this was top notch. Mario 3 aesthetic really suited this level well. Good work on the multiple paths to the end and the falling blocks in several spots. I'll replay this one to comment on specific parts of the level.

Just a reminder. :) I’d love to know what else you thought.

I'd like a Sonic the Hedgehog maker or a Crash Bandicoot maker much, much more to be honest.

Mario is my sweet spot. I’m sure I’ve played more hours of Mario games than all other games combined. I couldn’t have been happier with the Mario Maker.

That does pose an interesting question though. What is your favorite all time “creator mode” from any game?

I think my answer might be Tony Hawk’s create a skate park mode. That shit was awesome. I spent countless hours producing the perfect parks that would allow my player to max out points to INSANE scores. I used a player and maxed out his stats in career mode, then played him on my created courses. I had at least one level where I could start a trick immediately at the start of the two minute clock and use combinations to continue the “same trick” for the entire clock. I can’t remember what those score were exactly, but they were off the charts. The creator mode itself was easy to use too. And it seemed really advanced for its time.

I just noticed that I have the record on chud bob omb. That’s from whenever I played it a few years ago.

I don’t think I’ve played that one yet. But I will.

I spent some time playing chud of ice and fire last night. It just reminded me that I hate it.

Alright, finally had a chance to sit down with the game, my son, and some of these codes.

We played Get Some!, Ghost House Gunner, and The Curse of Castle Danger. They were all pretty cool, though my son liked the Ghost House Gunner best. Mostly because it says "hard" and he beat it. You know, after probably 30 minutes. :)

He uploaded a level and wants to share it. It's pretty hard, I couldn't get past this one part with the bombs, but here goes:
