The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
I'm happy to reveal the completed disc for Binaural today. This was the first album from the bootleg era, so we had a LOT more versions to choose from for each song, which made the task more difficult but also meant we ended up with a very strong set. I think this disc is my favourite so far.
Riot Act is next! Shortlist coming soon.

It has been almost 13 years since the Green Habit Compilation was put together by the Red Mosquito Forum community. As the band has now been together for double that length of time, an update or sequel to this collection was well overdue. Hundreds of official bootlegs later (including numerous 'vault' releases from the pre-bootleg era), every song has been put up for review.
Red Mosquito forum users were invited to nominate and debate their favourite versions of each song, for me to then go away and listen to each to make a final decision: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=8556
There were a number of criteria for picking a definitive live version: sound quality, correct lyrics, no guitar flubs, full band (if that is how the song was recorded in the studio), electric rather than acoustic (again, if that is how the song was recorded), and original era/drummer where possible (unless later versions had something really special). Basically, if you had to represent the essence and power of each song through one single live version - which would it be?
After a LOT of deliberation, this is what we came up with. Thank you to everyone for your suggestions and for the discussion to date. This will be a constantly evolving collection, so will be reviewed as new shows are played or released from the vault. The best known source for each track has been used, and remastered by JWB only where required to provide the smoothest possible listening experience.

Looking at that list reminds me of what a unique point they were at with their song writing. What a track list

It’s actually kinda cool that I could both comprehend and agree with this post without the sensation of overwhelming shame.

What are people's thoughts on this?

Arc - San Diego 2003-06-05 (audience) - Washington 2008-08-16 (Ed solo - Water On The Road version - thoughts on possibly including this????)
Honestly, I'd be fine with not having Arc in the set at all in keeping with the original intention of the performances and their exclusion from the bootlegs.
(Although if it is to be there it should be one of the 2003 versions...)

I also stumbled across a mid-set version of Can't Keep (Lexington 2003-04-21) which is giving Tokyo a run for it's money.
Tokyo is great because of the sound quality/lack of audience noise, but Lexington is definitely better. Ed's vocals are on point, and he gets the words right. I was surprised at how many of the 25 performances have lyric flubs in that second verse, which is frustrating.
I also agree with whoever said Arc should be left off.
Riot Act is proving to be a tough challenge - there are a number of neck-and-neck selection quandaries that I'd appreciate any input on:
All Or None: - Boston 2003-07-11 - Albany 2003-04-29 - Benaroya 2003-10-22
Save You: - West Palm Beach 2003-04-11 - Council Bluffs 2003-06-13
You Are: - Champaign 2003-04-23 - Camden 2003-07-06
I Am Mine: - MSG 2003-07-08 shortlisted so far, but surely for a song played almost every night of the tour there must be other great versions - anyone have any suggestions?...
