I hated it... It seemed stripped of all emotion for the sake of the edm kids.
I like that the band is back, but their costumes were somewhere between distracting and atrocious! Time to walk it back, Annie.
There did seem to be something off about it. I thought some of that was probably down to the weak webcast sound. I'm sure they'll get more comfortable & dialed in with the new show as the tour progresses.

Also liked the different take on Huey Newton. Most of the other stuff didn't seem much different than the solo w/ backing tracks versions I saw earlier in the tour. Many times I was asking myself if the live drums were actually in the mix & not a track (although I know he uses a lot of electronic pads in his kit)
The synthy take on Marrow was cool too. Probably still my favorite song of hers, so really good to see it still in rotation.
Listening to this now... I think the Slow Disco "remix" is excellent. I don't prefer it to the studio/album track by any means. But I like what they're doing with it I like that version as a sort of up beat, dance remix.
I do think all the screens and projections are a bit too much. And I'm ready for her to let go of those in general. If she's just doing that for this tour, then fine. But I personally am looking forward to a time when she doesn't feel she needs to rely on those, interesting as they are.

Maybe if it was a different song... I guess I have too much emotional investment in SD. It is my favorite song she has written in a LONG time!
The solo acoustic versions give me chills/make me cry.
