Chicago has actually sold pretty well.

Just heard a commercial on the radio for the second chicago show. They read off all the band members by name. I lol'd at "Jeff Schroeder!"

Nobody cares who he is though in the context of a radio ad.

I thought it was weird that they listed Schroeder before Chamberlain in the promo video that was going around.

They added shows in LA and Chicago, both seemingly sold out...but when i go to the ticketmaster page, they both have lots of seats available...weird.

the only ones i see available are about 30 $500 platinum tickets in sections 1 and 2. everything else is gone.

So what happens here... do they cancel dates, or move to smaller venues in the same city?

Quote:
“I’m a free-market libertarian capitalist,” he said, adding that he had not voted since 1992, when he cast a ballot for Bill Clinton. “I’m not anti-anything except establishment. I find institutions and systems suspicious.”

Still, he referred obliquely to the “culture war,” “fake news,” “globalists,” “Maoists,” “purity tests,” “left-leaning groupthink,” “protected minority groups,” “mass hypnosis,” “social justice warriors” and other terms used in some conservative circles to dismiss leftist identity politics. And he defied any opportunity to coddle conflicted fans.

“I’m not going to be defined by other people’s version of the shadow world,” Mr. Corgan said.

Jesus Christ.

Quote:
Mr. Iha, 49, in a hoodie and polka-dot socks, had a slouchy teenage demeanor and stayed mostly quiet, while Mr. Corgan could not help but be the kind of frontman who, despite repeated assurances that he didn’t want to interrupt or speak for the group, still did 90 percent of the talking.

Quote:
Mr. Iha implied that Mr. Corgan was less of a taskmaster — the guitarist was delighted that, recently, he could miss some band responsibilities to drop off his kids at school without any pushback.

Poor James.

If this part of the review of Solara is anything to go by, I'm a little hesitant to get too excited

Quote:
While it won’t go on anybody’s favorite Pumpkins songs of all time list, it’s a solid starting point for this new incarnation of the band

Solara is streaming at Pitchfork. It's decent. Billy's doing more of the vibrato stuff he did on WPC, and his vox are too loud in the mix, but it still hues much closer to their original sound than something like Can't Deny Me.

i hope there's some dream pop on their new one.

I thought it was.....alright. But then again I only got just over a third of the way through before turning it off

The vocals were actually the only barely enjoyable thing, I thought Billy sounded pretty good for once, but the song itself is just terrible. Nothing there.

I'll say this: it's better than "Can't Deny Me"
