I might just stretch out and play MV with the headphones on tomorrow while I have the house to myself.
Also, The Witness is on iOS now too. That game is phenomenal.
Finished Monument Valley. That was very satisfying, like clearing rooms in a Zelda dungeon. Headphones are kind of a must with this one. Thanks, MD.
Witness looks intriguing, but the price tag is bold. Mario Run is the only game I’ve ever paid that kind of coin for, but if it’s anything like Monument Valley then I’m sure it’s worth it. Reading up on it, it looks like a much longer game.

It is a legitimate game. Came to PS4 and PC before iOS. I highly recommend it. A challenging, but relaxing puzzle game. Pretty easy to pick up and play. Completely worth the price and doesn't have any loot boxes/pay to win.

I bought Mass Effect Andromeda on PSN last week cause i figure it's probably worth $20 CAN and it can't possibly be as bad as people said. There have to be some redeeming qualities.
So I played the first prologue mission and now that i'm aboard the Nexus station and actually engaging with NPCs, i'm finding that the dialogue and acting is far worse that i had anticipated. It feels like the actors recorded their lines in a vacuum and completely without context, and the animation and cut scene edits feel like they were done by a 1st year animation student. Haven't seen any messed up facial animations yet though. So yeah, $20 seems to be about the right price for this game so far. Hooo boy did they fuck this up!
What Remains of Edith Finch might be my favorite "walking simulator" yet.
Hard to describe it without being too spoilerly, but it deftly manages to tell an engaging story with well-acted narration AND compelling gameplay. Something most games in the genre struggle to achieve. There is an easter egg for the studio's previous entry that made me genuinely smile. It is whimsical, funny, tragic, and moving.

Finished the Orchard section in The Witness.
The idea of the game sort of got spoiled for me just by reading reviews, but luckily no solutions have been spoiled. Steering clear of walkthroughs is a must for the theme of this game, clearly.
The last two tree puzzles scare the shit out of me thinking about the rest of this game.
Change your perspective... Sometimes the solution is that the solution is gone...
I get the feeling anything goes from here on out. I’m a creative thinker to an extent, but I really hope I don’t have to be a Mensa member to complete this.
With all of these Nintendo games starting to be available for iOS, I’ve been chomping at the bit for something from the Zelda franchise. I actually think I like The Witness even better. It’s a gorgeous world worth exploring and there’s no bullshit to get in the way.

I finished the game without using any sort of guide, even the "bonus" section. You'll be fine. Sometimes you have to replay puzzles to re familiarize yourself with the rules, but you'll get it. Walking away for a bit at times can help too. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Thanks for the recommendation. Glad I asked the question. I don’t really have time or space for actual console gaming, but lately I’ve been hankering for something I can pick up and put down on the bus.

You may be interested in the Switch. Great portability and a growing library of top notch games. It even has (arguably) the best Zelda game of the past two decades.

Wait, Witness is on ios? Huh.
It's beautiful on my 7 Plus. I know I'm supposed to be solving puzzles, but I mostly just walk around looking at that stunning world.
how does it play? is there much stuttering?
No stuttering at all. The only thing I really don't like is all the finger moves. It would be nice if tilt scrolling was an option for walking. You absolutely need fingers to explore the puzzle logic though.

We should have a thread for Witness.
I'm so into everything about the orange trees section it's sickening. This and the two line puzzles are the most satisfying to my mind, so far. The rest of this island can go fuck itself.

It's been two years since I played it so it's tough to remember specifics. I do remember the shade tree puzzles being fantastic and the tree house puzzles being pretty difficult.
