I've all but finalised the selections for Ten, but I wanted some feedback on a thought I had.
The Drop In The Park version of Porch is amazing (slightly better than Atlanta 94 in my opinion - the other contender), however, it comes in at a whopping 12:38.
What do people think about deftly cutting out a chunk of the breakdown to make it a bit shorter for the purpose of this compilation? Would that be wrong?
There are other such not-quite-true-to-actual-performance things that will come up:
- I've already pretty much decided I'm going to use the LO2L version of Do The Evolution, however as many know some of the vocals for this version were flown in from another.
- The (probably) best version of Sad (San Fran III 2006) flows into the next track, so requires some minor editing to make give it a proper ending.
Thoughts?...
Yes, cut Porch down or find a shorter version that works. Lo2L DTE is fine by me and I think you and WCT have Sad all figured out already.

Idk, I kind of like the longer (older) Porch versions. That Zurich '92 one is like 10 minutes long and it is my favorite version. I'd vote to keep it as is. As much as I hate disagreeing with doone.
And yeah, Lo2L DTE is great

Our first disagreement!
I absolutely don't like the long jams on Porch unless I'm watching a video and can see monkey boy Eddie climbing around like a lunatic. Brad, if you must include a long jam, please make it an interesting one.

It definitely is - great Tearing tag among others

If these are supposed to be considered definitive versions, how can you possibly be in favour of editing out whole portions of them??
I'm going to keep DITP Porch as is - was just putting the idea out there. And you're right, no need to think about CD-burning as this is going to be a digital collection.
The finished Ten era discs are not too far away, but in the mean time I thought we should get started on Vs. Here are the nominations I have so far - please post any and all comments or further suggestions in this thread
Go - Las Vegas 1993-11-30 - Atlanta 1994-04-03

Glorified G - Washington DC 1995-01-14 - Atlanta 1994-04-03
