Ridley - I admire what you do for the community, but I cannot get on board with this one. Glad others can though.

P.S. - please tell me you at least left in the creepy rusty wind chime sounds that close out NFY.

Fair enough - I know it's not going to be something everyone would be interested in, I just had the itch to play around with it one day and figured others may want to check out the result.

I did keep the ending of NFY. I also ended up keeping the whip intro to Satan's Bed. I tried to take it out and fade-in the drum beat (given it cuts in) but it just didn't sound any good. The whips are a good pallet cleanser after HTI anyway

Crazy thought: You counter this project with a version of Vitalogy that includes segments of Stupid Mop peppered throughout the album.

That might be the only way I’d ever listen to Stupid Mop again.

I like the spirit of Brad's original track listing. All these other ideas of putting No Code tracks written 12 months later in the mix seem pointless.

Truth is none of it has a real point. It’s, to me, just for fun.

I've always thought there was a monstrosity of an album of 1994/1995 songs if the band did an EP of material cast off from Vs and recordings immediately after its release.

EP:
Better Man
Whipping
Hard to Imagine
Nothingman (Oct 93 - at least this was the demo time)
Last Exit (Nov 93)
Tremor Christ (Nov 93)

1994/95 album:

Spin the Black Circle (Feb 94)
Corduroy (Feb 94)
Not For You (Feb 94)
Satan's Bed (Apr 94)
Immortality (Apr 94)
Long Road (Feb 95)
I Got Id (Feb 95)
Lukin (Feb 95)
Habit (Apr 95 debut/tracked Jul 95)
Falling Down (Jun 95)
All Night (Jul 95)
Brain of J (Sept 95)
Dead Man (Sept 95)
Bugs (Feb or Apr 94)
Stupid Mop (Sept 94)
Aye Davanita (Apr 94)

To me, this album captures the band's state of mind. Or it's just me messing around in iTunes playlist to make sense of that era and to get rid of the filler.

oh what i wouldn't give to hear the studio recording of better man from the vs. sessions.

I can say that I have not heard the version from the VS. session, but I have heard the one from the this cassette (https://www.collectionzz.com/Cockage/pe ... -rough-mix) and let me tell you that it is totally different. It is like another poster suggested, drums from the beginning. There is a really neat "lazer" effect or sound at the end of the song. If you've heard the live version from Atlanta 94 ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8mWGUluRWA) just imagine a studio version of that. Best way to describe it. To me it is different enough to say that it is probably similar to what the VS. session sounds /sounded like.
