Maul: You are protecting someone. They fight, Maul is wounded (dying?) Maul: Is he the chosen one? Obi-Wan: He is. Last scene sees Obi-Wan watching over Luke.

Yeah that opened a can of worms when it aired. About who is the chosen one. Ugh. Obi wan being selective with the truth as usual was the conclusion given.
1st season was promising, 2nd season was better. 3rd season had a few weak episodes, but overall it was amazing, and easily the best. 4th season has been pretty good so far, but nothing spectacular. I'm on episode five now.
So... Scrimshaw had an interesting point on The Force Center Podcast recently. They were breaking down the new Rebels trailer and much was made of the fact that The Father, The Son and The Daughter from Mortis are in it. Obviously, we talked about that here already too.
But he said when he went back and watched the Mortis arc from The Clone Wars he couldn't help notice how Obi-Wan mentions (more than once) that they could have just brought Anakin to Mortis but instead they brought all three of them.
Which led Scrimshaw to theorize that maybe that's how they're going to deal with Kanan, Ezra, and Ahsoka. Kanan is the Father. Ezra is the Son. and Ahsoka is the Daughter. It would make sense for them to fulfill those archetypes on another plane (like Mortis or perhaps some hidden similar thing on Lothal), that way they have a grand purpose without having to die AND it makes sense why we haven't heard from them by the time A New Hope rolls around.
It's an interesting thought. I kind of like it. Of course, it would all depend on how it's handled. But it's an interesting "out."

That would be pretty cool. The only thing that makes me doubt that is
One of the upcoming episode descriptions says that the crew of the ghost is dealing with a loss of one of their own. That has to be Kanan, right? On a Hera rescue mission? Or possibly Zeb I guess. Zeb would be a less impactful loss if they were concerned with the feelings of kids that are supposedly watching this show.

Yeah, I initially thought it would be Kanan when I read that description. But then the new trailer dropped and Kanan is all over that thing. That made me think that he has to be in more than one more episode. Could be Zeb, yeah. Or it could be a more minor character, like that mutton-chopped Imperial traitor whose name I can never remember.

Or Rex.

I'm pretty sure I was wrong. All the new footage of Kanan looks like it could all be from the same episode. And there's only one bit with Kanan and Hera. Also, fucking Hondo is back. Goddamnit. I didn't notice that the first time I watched it.

That "shot" of him in RotJ, was that confirmed that it was him? Or wasn't there some doubt to that?
