I dont recall if a conversation was had on the quality but i personally think its a massive upgrade from the FM/soundboard version that I paid $80 for in 1996. The nuances really pop; especially EV's voice and Aments Bass.

That being said ....

right choice or wrong choice to dump the encore?

I wouldnt have minded them throwing in the digital versions on the record but im not sure that would have been great or easy to do without ruining the overall quality?

4th record would have also upped the price.

It is kind of the best part of the show though.

it's also pretty adorable how Ed could be off key so often starting off Small Town. Happened a lot back on those 93-95 shows

No multitrack recording exists, only pretty poor quality mono SBD.

The SBD versions are better than these.

When i said "step down" i meant a step down from the original SBD recordings we had. These sound different than those. They sound hollow.

Well yeah, they took it from some random unknown MP3 source. As far as I know, all circulating versions that we have are lossless.

It's typical of big rock bands, to not have a grip on that stuff. Just take a look at the disasterous Nirvana "rarities" box set to see what can happen when nobody gives a shit.

Listening to Alive, I love how Jack sounds like he’s constantly right on the verge of falling out of time yet never goes all the way.

He's like that more often than not. Always seems just a quarter-step slow and it gives the songs some personality and tension.

He also has this thing where he doesnt consistently play his hi hat or ride in successive rhythmic notes or on time either.

it's a great gimmick and was so wonderful for pearl jam.

I can’t be the only one who would be all for them releasing any show from the official bootleg era right?

Some of those European shows from 2000 would be a gorgeous addition.

Why would you want something that's already been officially released. Plus they released one of the 2000 warm-up shows already. There's still Vancouver, I guess.

I didn't understand this post, either. Aren't they already available from 10C?

I think he meant he’d like to have an already released official bootleg on vinyl. There are still a number of post-2000 shows not released though:

Vancouver 2000
Seattle 2002 x4
House of Blues 2003
Santa Barbara 2003
All of 2004
Missoula 2005
All of 2007 bar Vic
All the Bridge School shows
London, ON 2011
Alpine Valley 2011 x2
Others I’m forgetting

I'm not sure, ybe the setting of some of those venues, coupled with a vinyl package just seems like it would be perfect. Katowice II and Verona in particular.
