Pumped to hear some of these
Random question.. do you guys do the free Spotify or paid one?? If paid, is it worth 10 a month
I have rarely used spotify for the last 7 years or so but I just took a premium service for 3 months for $0.99. I'll see how I go. The download function is great as I don't have a big mobile data account.

What's the dl function
I guess while you have a premium account you can dl to your mobile thru the spotify app. Not sure when it clears or has an expiry date. perfect for this time of year for catching up on missed 2017 stuff.

I think I pay $18/month, but that's $AUS, so around 23c US. I need the paid version to run on my Sonos system, but that also gives me a family plan where 5 of us have fully individual accounts.
The kids love it and use it all the time, I'm a fan of having no restrictions on what I play or how it is played.

i have paid spotify and paid amazon music. both are about the same, mostly comes down to interface. i enjoy amazon's artist and genre stations more, i feel like i get more variety. all the curated stuff on either service i could care less about.

I've given Brad's tape a couple of listens and there are a few keepers from the albums I hadn't heard. I've kept quite up to date this year so most of this mix I was familiar with. There were a couple that I had heard once and not been drawn back to like Paul Kelly and Matt Cameron. Firewood and Candles sticks out as another great PK track.
Spoon, Elbow, Beck and Filthy Friends were albums I had forgotten to check out. The FF track I liked and I'll def check out the Beck album. Somehow the Neil Finn completely passed me by so that's a definite. The Spoon and Elbow tracks were okay but both bands are hit and miss for me.
6 artists in both Brad's and my playlist this year (National, AFire, QOTSA, CB+KV, Radiohead and St V)
Tracks added to my playlist: Beck - No Distraction Neil Finn - Second Nature Paul Kelly - Firewood And Candles Filthy Friends - The Arrival Matt Cameron - Time Can't Wait
The Beck album is maneuvering up my 2017 power rankings pretty swiftly -- I keep playing it and it just keeps getting better. People writing it off as his tawdry bid for the pop market are bonkers.
1. Protomartyr - "A Private Understanding" 2. Glassjaw - "Shira" 3. Jaden Smith - "Watch Me" 4. At the Drive-In - "Governed by Contagions" 5. Selena Gomez - "Bad Liar" 6. Tyler, the Creator - "911 / Mr. Lonely" 7. Kitty - "Running Away" 8. Big Sean - "Bounce Back" 9. Bhad Bhabie - "Hi Bich" 10. Lil Yachty - "Dirty Mouth" 11. Crystal Fairy - "Drugs on the Bus" 12. Kendrick Lamar - "XXX." 13. Lil Uzi Vert - "XO Tour Life" 14. Mac DeMarco - "One More Love Song"

Thanks to everyone who have put together direct downloads. I'm not on Spotify nor do I keep up with new music so I really appreciate these compilations.

I did notice a lot of overlapping artists on your mix - I'm back at work now so will be giving yours a spin today.
I'm hit and miss with Spoon too but Hot Thoughts is such an addictive earworm if you give it enough listens - probably now my favourite track by them. Neil Finn's album sounds gorgeous and is a very pleasant listen even if not up to his usual high standards. Beck has some great highs but also some facepalmy lows. And the Filthy Friends album was a bit of a let down IMO.

So starts my yearly slog through what is quite definitely out of my comfort zone.
These are quite alright. I like this Protomartyr track more than the others I've heard. Not sure on Glassjaw but I want to hear more. CF is the pick of em (aside from ATDI which was on my mix too). 1. Protomartyr - "A Private Understanding" 2. Glassjaw - "Shira" 4. At the Drive-In - "Governed by Contagions" 11. Crystal Fairy - "Drugs on the Bus"
These weren't terrible, not that I need to hear them again. 5. Selena Gomez - "Bad Liar" 6. Tyler, the Creator - "911 / Mr. Lonely" 7. Kitty - "Running Away" 13. Lil Uzi Vert - "XO Tour Life"
Disc 1 - Girls 01 Chastity Belt - Different Now 02 Camp Cope - Keep Growing 03 Hurray for the Riff Raff - Hungry Ghost 04 Charlotte Gainsbourgh - Deadly Valentine 05 Middle Kids - Your Love 06 Jen Cloher - Regional Echo 07 The Weather Station - Thirty 08 Valerie June - Long Lonely Road 09 Partner - Everybody Knows 10 Camp Cope - Maps (JJJ Like a Version)
