The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

Eh, everyone reads differently. I remember in high school I was on a Dean Koontz / Stephen King kick and I read several of their books in a day. Phantoms comes to mind, also the Dark Tower books.
Speaking of DT, I read a version of it that I haven't been able to find anywhere so at this point I'm pretty sure it was a fever dream that mixed Gunslinger with another book that was much more graphic.
Several Stephen King books in a day?! Wow.
OK, a parsing error on my part. I meant that I on several different days I read one of their books all the way through. Realize that this was, again, back in high school and I didn't have to have a good nights sleep so I would stay up until midnight.

Gee I read Under The Dome over a weekend and thought I was the boss. I have much to learn. I guess my punishment for not being in the same league as Bune and Stip is I had to read Under The Dome over a weekend.

Yeesh, that was a terrible book. Well, it was great until the reveal which made it retroactively terrible and I hated everyone in the book.
01/50 Books
Son of Retro Pulp Tales by Joe R. Lansdale
01/50 Movies
Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)
The variety of the stories in the SoRPT made for interesting reading. Especially the last one, holy cow. The intro was a fairy tale about a frog and princess and the first chapter was about terraforming Mars and how Terrans diluted the Martian bloodline with inbreeding. The next chapter introduced you to the main character, a prostitute from Earth, and then the story got going with a weird alien presence. Man, I don't even know what I expected but I know I have to find more Harlan Ellison to read.

I like Harlan Ellison better when he writes about writing science fiction rather than when he's actually writing a science fiction story. He's an old fashioned scifi writer which i guess isn't a bad thing but i don't appreciate the style much. That said "Angry Candy" has some good short stories in it

There is zero chance that I'll read 50 books this year. But I'll go ahead and try to keep track of the books I do read here. I might get to 50 movies. But probably not. We'll see.
Books: 1/50: Ernest Hemingway on Writing Movies: 1/50: The Last Jedi

So, do I come here and post every time I finish a book or a movie, or do I keep track of them and come here once I've done my 50/50?
I don't think it matters to anyone but yourself. The other board I've seen this had so many people that they limited posts to once a month for updates. That's kind of boring.
Really enjoyed it, the cast was pretty diverse and i think that helped the character chemistry. The storyline was better than i expected it to be too, made me glad to stumble on it flipping channels around last night. Reminded me of some of the better indie movies i used to actively seek out when i was in my 20s.
Also liked the music

I don't remember much about Whip It but I do recall enjoying it.
