The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
It's a spoiler filled review, of course it will mention Yoda. I think it's an early capture of the disappointment a lot of people has felt about this movie.

These are probably the same people that were vocally predicting TLJ would be an empire redux only a few weeks ago. Now they have to or get to complain that it isn’t.
I have my own mind made up on the film. I don’t have time or energy to spend reading some guys think piece about why he hates it and it’s shit. Especially when his opinion is More than likely going to do a 180 before long.
The opposite for me. I have liked or loved every Star Wars movie or series, and looked forward to this movie improving on the flaws of TFA. Was instead disappointed. I liked it the way I like TPM, but I wanted a great movie, not a deeply flawed one.

I’m fairly certain that the reputation on the movie will fall in time, when it is no longer the new thing in the cinema or on blu-ray.

Rey missed a trick.
When she pulls the saber out of kylos hand after the throne room the business end is pointing at him. All she has to do is time it and hit the on switch and let go of it.
Ps Rebels fans. You can hear the kyber crystal inside ‘singing’ as they’re both pulling at it
My dad of all people I think hit the nail on head. I loved it but he disliked it. And he said people don’t want to see there hero’s old and miserable. And I think a lot of people do have a problem with Luke.
But what I feel like Luke always had a teacher to guide him, obi wan briefly, Yoda for a bit, but the lessons were valuable to him. Luke not being the sharpest tool in the shed just didn’t know what to do when he failed Ben. What Luke did makes sense to me when I look at i this way.
He wasn’t wrong when he said the Jedi failed at there height, because it was true.

A good argument I saw on IGN is that RotJ is Christmas Day. You get all the presents and everything is great and then the next day is December 26th, and you still have to deal with the rest of the crap in your life. Sure yesterday was great but you have to keep moving. Kind of like that Bright movie in that they destroyed the bad guy thousands of years ago but shit still went bad for a lot of people. Just because the big bad is dead doesn't mean the little bads die as well.

Two things basically make this a good Star Wars movie for me: the relationship between the two opposing young leads (which is really great and the crux of the whole thing) and the interesting direction they took the concept of the Force in. I like that it's something that can be developed from the ground up instead of through a hierarchy of masters and dogma. I can let some of the other stuff I didn't like as much go because of how strong I thought these aspects were. I'm interested to watch it again.

1) It feels like with Luke being bumped off, they really set up Episode 9 to be all about Leia
2) I absolutely love Kylo Ren. He just doesn't give a shit, hates everyone and is on nobody's side. The real joker in the pack, he probably holds the balance of power for the last episode. Him and Luke are quite similar, they both think they can destroy the Sith by destroying the Jedi. They just want to do it in different ways.
3) So much for finding out where Snope came from, he just got bumped off instead. What a mug, talking about Kylo like that right in front of him as though he was a fucking robot.
4) This, TFA and Rogue One are ace. If we want to compare them to episodes 4-6, ANH doesn't really get going until the final battle, same with ROTJ. TESB is the most consistent of the 3, without the great battle. I love all 3 of them dearly but let's not be disappointed with the sequels.

Yay grim sociopolitical ultrarealism, just what a great space opera should be
LOL.
I don't get why people want SW to be so realistic (character-wise) or the need for these space fantasies to mirror real-life historical and/or current events.
Can't I just go watch heroes defeat bad guys? Can't the bad guys get the upper hand at some point, and then the heroes figure out a way to best them?
Why do we have to show in a space fantasy that everyone is special (everyone can use the force?), if that is what indeed the last scene is implying, or Rian is wanting to imply with kililng the Jedi Order. The OT made Luke special, the "Return of the Jedi" and us kids didn't complain about it. We just roleplayed that we were Luke, or Han, or whomever else.
If everyone can use the Force, then the Force and its powers is basically "normal".
