Finally got a run in again. I just ran until I got tired. Only made it two miles but glad to see my pace is just about the same as it was last September. Boy, it feels GREAT to run in this temp!

Running was going great, I was picking up the pace on my EZ runs and felt like I was building into race shape quickly, but then I ate shit on my favorite trail in Las Cruces while visiting my mom's place.
Nothing major, just a slip and a big slam that left a huge bruise on my right hip.

I thought I loved running in cold weather until this morning. We’re sub freezing this week which is not common in this part of Texas. Not sure how y’all northerners do it. Seems like such a small thing, but gloves would have probably made the difference.

i just played hockey in what feels like -18 farenheit with the windchill. it's called being a man. i remember thinking it felt warm when i woke up this morning. but it's been -45 farenheit with the windchill for a week or so.
Layers. Lots of em. It took 16 total items to get me out the door this morning.
How cold was it? My runs yesterday, in about 30 degree weather with little wind, were done in mountain bike shorts (great for winter running), a dri-fit t-shirt, long sleeve cotton shirt and biking jacket. Topped off with a ball cap and light knit gloves.

I borrowed a pair of lululemon stretch pants from my brother for that run (big family holiday get together). Immediately bought a pair for myself along with a cap when I got back to Houston. This weather’s sticking around long enough to justify the purchase.

Today it was a balmy 2F. Sunday and Monday it was -30 with the wind chill.
Items were beanie, facemask, neck gator, jacket, two shirts, two tights, shorts, two pairs of socks, two pairs of gloves, shoes, headlamp, blinky light, and I guess watch makes 17.

whatever happened to normal guys that excercise in sweat pants?
Even though I'm not running long distances, I prefer to feel sleek and aerodynamic. I hate feeling my clothes on me. Stretch pants have no lag when I run.
