Anybody wanna read 15,000 words on the brilliance of The Last Jedi and how it relates to common literary tropes as well as predictions (based on evidence in the films and literary analysis of basic storytelling and complex mythology and structures) on what will happen in Ep 9?

I was listening to a discussion the other day and they mention Luke's three lessons for Rey but how he only gives her two. I don't remember who many there were though. You guys who've seen it multiple times, what were they?

Spoiler Alert for LV: it talks a whole lot about sex and ships Reylo hard.
I just read that whole thing. Really hope she isn't right about episode nine, and the whole holy mother thing. But I did like the comparisons to Padme and Anakin.

Luke kicks her off the island prior to 3, I think
The tricky part is the third lesson. Are went meant to believe, thematically, that the third and final lesson is the lesson of legacy? Does Luke ultimately give her the third lesson by film's end? Or do we just need to wait for the deleted scenes? Because there is a lot of common thought among those in the know that one of the big deleted sequences is the third lesson. And it probably involves those shots we saw in promo material but not in the film of Rey running on Ahch-To with the light saber.

One reason the scene was likely cut was that it took Luke's reluctance to get involved in the Resistance to a much more taunting and mocking tone with Rey, allowing her to believe people were being murdered. It may have painted Luke in a much more negative light with this "lesson," but it would have also elaborated on why Rey was so desperate to get away from Luke after the cruel trick.
Good job not getting the point. Taunting and mocking?
