It’s one of the weakest crawls of all of them. Even with the zero time passing it could easily be jazzed up a bit to say the same thing but more exciting.

Dis. A. Gree.

This is probably my favorite crawl of all.

That’s ok. Just wasn’t all that great imo.

I love TLJ but can’t sustain a level of interest or excitement like the run up to 9 for another two years. Or maybe I’m blue cos it’s christmas and I hate Christmas. I dunno.

I hear ya, friend. It's a weird time of year for everyone. Pour a pint, put on A New Hope and try not to think about Pablo Hidalgo. Everything will return to the mean. I believe!

We have two years to wait right? Or is it 18 months? I forget

So the new fear and thinking is, we’re gonna see chewie and the falcon especially, get killed in 9. It’s always this unstoppable force that saves them in the nick of time and despite serving as ‘home’ in the OT and ST, as a closure in 9 it will be destroyed.

I’m not sure which is more upsetting. Chewie dying or the falcon being destroyed.

Fvck the dog. Save the ship.

I speculated about this a few pages ago. These would likely be the two most devastating deaths in the series for me.

Let go. No one is ever truly gone.

Let the past die. Kill it. If you have to.

As long as Chewie dies taking out Kylo for killing his boy - I'd be alright with that

I dont think they will mess with the falcon and chewie. oR C3PO and R2.

I'll set the over/under on each. Y'all place your bets.

Chewie: 6% chance he dies in 9
Falcon: 20% chance
R2D2: 3%
3PO: 9%

JJ has said he sees 9 as a conclusion to it all. I can’t see how they could destroy the falcon and not chewie. He’d be almost as upset as losing Han. If one goes the other does too I reckon.

I don't think any of them are going anywhere. But I don't think one going without the other is all that unreasonable or unlikely. I can see a million ways in which the Falcon goes without Chewie. But regardless, I think both are fine. I'll take the under on all the odds that I set above.

Also, I've seen JJ say it's the end of "their story." Meaning the new characters he helped create. I haven't seen him talk about "the conclusion to it all." Other than those alleged comments that he made to some drunken rando in some dark and weird bar way back when that can't be corroborated by anyone other than said drunken rando.

Any chance they let Rey have some ridiculous double sided staff lightsaber or just rebuild the blue one?

How much of a time jump will there be for this one?

We don't know. I'm hoping for a minimal jump, something between six months up to no more than two years. Some here seem to think it'll only work if it's 5 + years. That seems weird to me.

I think it all comes down to how long do you need for the Resistance, armed with the skywalker legend, to rebuild a rebellion out of disaffected elements of the galaxy. 6 months feels a bit abrupt.

It also depends on how the Kylo/Rey relationship (which is the beating heart of this trilogy) goes. Do they want minimal time to have passed, or do they want it to have settled into a certain rhythm

It really all boils down to what the story is. Will it continue onward with building a rebellion and fighting the bad guys? or will something else happen.

There could be zero time jump, there could be a 10 year time jump. It only matters as much as what the next story will be about.
