I was tempted to put this in the media thread, but its stunning that such a mind-numbingly stupid article could exist in the real world, much less on a tech site, at least until you find out that the author is a literal card-carrying socialist. It's like he thinks someone is literally mining bitcoins out of a cave somewhere in China.

just as long as institutions aren't accepting bitcoin as collateral on which to make loans
and people are not taking out home equity loans to buy bitcoin
everything should end fine
