Ten years ago I would have picked Ed Norton to play him but I dunno who has that intensity right now.

Finished the Luke book. Some highs and some lows, but overall a good book. And I really enjoy the idea that "the Force" isn't always the same, that not everyone interacts with it the same way. Maybe it's driving something for The Last Jedi...but probably not. Still an interesting idea.

Thought it strange the book introduced a character like that though. Maybe she will show up in a future story? Only reason I can think of for putting her in there like that. Very Chekov's Gun-ish of the author.

Just read one of the Yoda stories in the comics.

He encounters a primitive tribe that call th force the stone strength or something?

Yoda fends off an actual mountain coming at him in the issue. It’s awesome.

I just assumed she was using the old base. Not setting up a new one.

Me too. Kinda thought they’d flee to Crait after the attack of da qar and they need somewhere to hide and Leia remembers Crait.

You know what would make a great standalone SW movie? Dark Disciple.

So, the framing device for The Legends of Luke Skywalker book is way cooler now after The Last Jedi. Also, that book had a ton of small references to that movie. It might be the most "Road to The..." book of all so far.

Very true. I mean, the book tells you why Luke fishes like that. Plus all the references to other Force users and how it's different for them. Sure he learns a few lessons but the biggest is what he says in the movie: The Force is not limited to the Jedi and the Sith, it's everywhere and it can be used in a lot of different ways.

Also the reiteration of the importance and nobility in sacrifice. And the Canto Bight kids! Who knew that thing was gonna end up being so profound.

The amount of people including Star Wars podcasts that totally missed the broomstick lad using the force to pull the broom to him is astounding.

I didn’t catch it on my first viewing but totally did and gasped on the second.

I'm really surprised that after 3 new SW movies, we haven't seen a character from the books or animated series at all, other than Chopper rolling by or hearing "General Syndulla". A lot of SW fans, including myself, have fed our fix over the years with the shows, books, etc. You would think they would get that and throw someone in if for nothing else than a little shout out to fans. Obviously R1 would have been the easiest place to do it, but they could have in TFA or TLJ as well.

It will only trickle down from the films into the supplemental canon. It won’t flow the other way really. Well Saw was in rogue one I guess.

You’ll see it happen more when the live action series happens maybe

Saw. He's the only one so far, I think.

Which is ironic because the really interesting characters are all in the animates series or the books, not in the movies, lol
