Love both of these, Abel is top 5 for sure.
Top 10 right at this moment: Apartment Story Slow Show Fake Empire Mistaken for Strangers Abel Mr November Terrible Love England Geese of Beverly Road Slippin Husband.
As much as I enjoy Sleep Well Beast, I can't see them replacing any of the songs in this list, only time will tell how they age.

I feel the same about Sleep Well Beast. Even if I am liking it more than I initially did, I don’t think it will give me any top ten type songs. Maybe no top 20s actually.

My top 10 would probably be spread out among several albums. They might even be getting better with each album.
My top 10 or 20 songs would be pretty evenly distributed between Sad Songs, Alligator, Boxer, High Violet, and Trouble Will Find Me. I have several favorites from every one of those albums.

I love Sleep Well Beast, but I think the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Actually, if I hadn't included Slippin Husband (which might be my least favorite out of these 10) my top 10 would exclusively consist of Alligator, Boxer and High Violet songs.
I still think Sleep Well Beast is the best after those 3.

I think it's widely beloved round here but it clicked with me less than the others. It has always sounded kinda gray to these ears if that makes sense, and a bit redundant in their catalog.
It has grown on me though. I think I Should Live In Salt is brilliant, and love Pink Rabbits & Humilliations amongst others, I should give it more listens soon.

first time seeing them last night. thought it was great. matt's voice was showing some wear later in the show with louder songs - turtleneck sounded terrible.

Last night's show was off. Matt was sick, but still something was lacking. I was also surprised they had the same opener as Tuesday. It was good to be sure, but not stellar. I almost felt like they just wanted to get home.
I'm really glad to see this song back but I feel there is too much going on... there is a medium between this current incarnation and the lovely brass-tacks initial iteration:

Does anyone know where the live versions of 'Fake Empire' and 'About Today' on the Virginia EP were recorded? Maybe someone has a physical copy to check the credits?...
