Record and release a great album. I want them to release songs that are nuanced with high replay value not generic ed songs about how he hates republicans and organized religion. I want to see 7 min songs with instrumental breaks id like to see both Stone and Jeff contribute to the lyric writing and last but not least please let Mike out of his cage.

Absolutely. I'm getting really sick of the 2-3 minute "short and sweet" bullshit pop-rock tracks. They're past the point of trying to get top 40 radio airplay, so why not have some full length songs with decent solos and bridges/codas. Work on the intro, draw it out. Don't be in a hurry to get to the chorus so quickly! Hey PJ - do you realise that your audience is mostly older now? We have the patience for the song to get to those points organically.
Essentially they need to stop over perfecting and refining their songs. Make them fucking EPIC instead.

Figure out how to age. Sirens is not it and paint by numbers like MYM aren't necessarily it either.
For instance, the last two U2 albums, Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience, are not bad at all and deal eloquently with aging as people. Given that those last two are their 13th and 14th studio albums from a bunch of guys who are rapidly approaching 60. I'm not saying be U2, but find that same spirit or motivation and then execute on it. At the least it will give Ed a reason to call Bono and then tell us all about it in concert......You know I had writers block in Hawaii and then I called Bono....

Alive
1990-2000: A downtrodden song about the perils of growing up with an abusive parent, and feeling burdened by still being alive 2000-2025: A celebratory anthem about appreciating your life and all that you've lived through 2025-2040: Jesus Christ when are we going to die?
No Code, Yield, Binaural, and Riot Act seemed to come from a band older and wiser than their ages. They are like Benjamin button or something aging in reverse.

They should just be a more active band again. I don't like this four year wait between albums. Stop aiming at markets or radio. Just record and release records.
I don't think they write less songs than in 1996-2002, but they sure record and release less. Have 10 songs ready every 2 years. Experiment with them, change producers, ways of recording. Record a garage album, an acoustic one, and another glossy return to form album.
Be more like Neil, be less like Bruce or Bono.....
