This list gave way too much weight to how influential the games are.
Yeah totally agree. Influence is one thing. It's not the only thing. It's like putting a list of best WR's ever and only using speed as the determining factor.

Especially in a medium\industry where iteration and sequels often end up better than their predecessors.

great game, loved it. but you can't ever play it again. for that alone it shouldn't be anywhere near the top 100 (if i'm being generous) let alone at 30.
i'm mostly cool with tetris at 1. still have my original game boy copy.

I didn't feel it was really a game. Walk around, click this, listen to recording, doze off.
At the start, it really seemed like a horror game. But about 30 mins in I realised it was nothing of the sort.

Same. I appreciated the story and the "twist", but it is not really a game. More of an interactive story. Enjoyable, but certainly not deserving of the immense amount of praise it received from several outlets.

well, yeah.
*shrug*
it got me hook, line, and sinker, i guess. i really liked that the game subverted any expectation of what i thought it was going to be and what was going to happen throughout its entirety. i enjoy the telltale games, so the 'interactive story' gameplay didn't turn me off, either. i just enjoyed trying to piece it all together, took my time in doing so, and i think that made it a more immersive experience for me.

Been playing The Last Guardian. Control issues aside, I'm really enjoying it.
New update to Battlefront 2 coming soon to address the player progression/credits issues. That along with The Last Jedi content dropping this month is very good news.

Honestly, my only real issue with progression now is that it is boring. If you only play one or two classes, it's pretty easy to get enough crafting parts to buy and upgrade the cards you want to use, at least until you get to the top tier, and i'm not far enough along for those ones yet. There is no sense of reward for getting any of these cards and perks. At least with the old Hutt contract system you had to play different weapons and things to earn new stuff, so it forced you to play outside your comfort zone to earn new equipment and weapons. The only thing that takes any real effort for the reward is earning new weapons and mods by playing as that class and getting kills.
That said, the core game is still fun. I need to start playing the star fighter mode but i really suck at anything in a ship so i've been avoiding it.
