I have a feeling most people on this board look down on/dislike Elvis. I am not one of them.

Just listened to "I, John". So good.

"I, John" is awesome.

I'm not a huge Elvis fan but I do love his gospel music. His "Joshua Fit de Battle ob Jericho" is definitely on my "songs that cheer you right the fuck up" list.

Elvis is sound. So many great early moments, and then later on you get stuff like From Elvis in Memphis. I had to leave town for a little while....

His gospel stuff is pretty good, yeah...but there's way too many great people doing amazing spiritual stuff in the 55-62 time frame for me to invest too much in it. Give me the Soul Stirrers any day.

Someone made a killer Elvis mix tape a while back and it had the best “when it rains it really pours” on it. Does anyone have that mix handy? I’ve never been able to find that version.

Quite the bump.

I, too, am a big Elvis admierer. My daughter loves the movie Lilo & Stitch, and it's got a couple of good Elvis tunes on the soundtrack.

Thank you for searching for an Elvis thread before creating one

I think I snagged that mix. I'll have a look later on and report back. It had a killer "Walk a Mile in My Shoes" on it.

He was pretty good. Can always get down to his Mystery Train.

I'm an Elvis fan. I mean, not die hard or anything and I don't own any proper albums, but I have a collection of his songs that I like. I particularly love that early rockabilly / Sun Studios stuff.

Bossa Nova Baby and Guitar Man are killer tunes. I'm also a big fan of his bassist, Jerry Scheff, but mainly because of his work on the Doors' LA Woman album.

Pretty sure it was a 2 cd mix. Nicely done as usual with mixes from this forum.

I swear I’ve searched for days for that version of WIRIRP to no avail. It was the tits.

Graceland is awesome and everyone should go.

Read Last Train to Memphis and came away with the distinct impression that Elvis was one weird weird dude.

I visited his childhood home in Tupelo. Also a must see for Elvis fans.

I swear I’ve searched for days for that version of WIRIRP to no avail. It was the tits.

Found it! It was called "The Real Elvis" and is indeed a 2 disc set taken from "The Complete Elvis Presley Masters".
