Really? This is the only backspacer song that holds up in anyway, especially live.

I hate this song so much. Since self titled there’s been a slow building attempt at an anthemic song. Usually written by Ed with a palm muted intro and then they usually try to build to something resembling In Hiding...but instead we get turds like Gone, Lightning Bolt, and (the worst of them all) Unthought Known. Fuck this song. I hope I never have to hear it again.

Sure. But what would you rate it? 4 stars? 5?

I gave it a 2 because I get what they’re going for, but the execution is really bad. I love slow building songs (not as much as one poster here) when they’re pulled off well- this song is not one of them.

Love Boat Captain is kind of in the same vein. Gone and Unthought Known both improved tremendously from the recent remixes.

Lightning Bolt was already great
Yes! Thank you, stip. I knew I was forgetting one in LBC. That’s probably as far back as it goes. Wishlist...maybe. I don’t know. Had it ended like the demo version did and started rocking again, still, maybe.

I love LBC lyrics, and the instrumental, ant the rithym, and the delivery, and the existence of it.
