A lot of No.4 is in “whatever” territory but Atlanta, Glide, Down, and Sour Girl are all great songs. No album with four great songs goes below the “good” category for me.

don't know if I would go that far but I coincidently am just listening to that album and marvellong over how brave scott's lyrics are. down and sour girl in particular. so vulnerable and so depressing.

Also Sex & Violence and Regeneration are like two of the best songs to come out of the major 90s bands.

This is the way I feel about Shangri La.

I think these showcase different types of vulnerabity. Shangri is honest, mature and laregly depressive in nature. No.4 is much more alienating and sardonic in nature. On songs like Down and Sour Girl Scott embraces a variety òf patheic and insidious characteristics.
