I've been on a major Michael Myers kick over the last two weeks, watched loads of docs on the franchise and binged them all over the last day or two. I find it crazy that the general consensus seems to be that 4 is better than 5, which I COMPLETELY disagree with.
Sure, Tina is super annoying but she dies 3/4 through the movie. The mask is better in 5, the death scenes are better, and the scenes of tension work more effectively than in 4.
I'll be watching part 6 later, and I think we can all agree that it's tied with Resurrection as worst in the series.

Don't get me wrong, the sequels are pretty terrible overall. I'm not pretending these are masterpieces or anything. Well, except for the first one of course. Do you really think part 2 is that good? I think it's one of the weaker sequels, personally.

I'm praying next year's new one with Jamie Lee Curtis is worth a damn.
No, I don't think 2 is that good. Its just that the series pretty much fell off the cliff after the original. I think I have it as 2 more for my personal nostalgia. It was probably the one I saw the most as a kid and it used to scare the sh*t out of me no matter how many times I watched it.

H20 was a really nice comeback for the series.
I get what you're saying. Thinking back, I probably watched 2 just as much as the original when I was a kid too. Something about being stalked around a hospital at night intrigues me. I was so disappointed with Rob Zombie's sequel because the first 10 mins or so in the hospital are savage and actually quite good and then it all goes tits up from there and becomes unwatchable.
H20 is a damn fine film. If only they'd left it at that.

I couldn't tell you which movie was which of the Halloween sequels after 3. They all blend together. They're...fine. Boilerplate slashers. The first two suck, 3 is wild and crazy and super fun, and the others are...there.
