I still remember my first listen through Yield and Faithfull really jumping out at me as my immediate favorite. It was exactly the type of song I wanted them to be doing at that point of their career.
And Jack. Oh, Jack.
I like In Hiding a little better, but Faithfull is a 5-star song.

it's early to do comparisons, but while I think the high spots on Yield are certainly more impressive than the high spots on L-bolt, I find L-bolt on the whole to be a much more consistent and satisfying listen.
I agree with your views pretty often, but you are just wrong about Yield.
someday I'm going to do a guided tour of yield thread and it will be epic.

Get the "most stop post of all time" thread ready for that day
I'd be scared to death to read a stip guided tour of Yield.
I don't know about finishing mine, honestly. I see the album differently than I used to, and I think I rambled on a lot more than necessary. My feelings on what the album's trying to do are a lot more clarifying now.
Anyways, this has become a five star song. It's another classic to come off of PJ's best record.

welp, then it'll be up to you to respond to me.
the tour thread won't have anything to do with what I personally think about the songs. That's what song threads are for. It's the story I think Yield is trying to tell (for whatever that's worth)
This song has to be one of the most overrated PJ songs in my opinion. Its got a good beginning and ending, but the middle of the song (THE MAJORITY OF IT) is so bad....lyrically one of the cheesiest choruses in the entire catalog.
"WE'RE FAITHFUL! WE ALL BELIEVE! WE ALL BELIEVE IT!"
In Hiding is another song that suffers from cheesy lyrics but the soaring chorus redeems it, whereas Faithful has nothing to redeem it. Seriously why is this song so long.
