There hasn't been a lot I've wanted to see. Also, it takes longer when you wait for 4K instead of going to the theater. I'll catch up.

So you buy the 4k Blu Rays or rent them somehow?

I just blind buy them. Cheaper than my wife and I buying tickets to see them.

Real idea- movie remakes based on my fat finger searches.

For example, Robin Hod: Ponce of Thirves.

Getitsburg.

And of course, who can forget Spaceballscape.

Apparently while watching Master and Commander I did a quick search for Mastie Nad Commander, presumably because it sounds like the title of the greatest movie ever made.

I'm also excited to see Dances with Wolfs, as it keeps the original's poetic maturity but also it's an abomination by an idiot.

The part where she asks him if he's looking for a date which is what sets him on this Kaufman-esque rant. His girlfriend recently committed suicide and he's dealing with shit like this: Jim Carrey Facing Trial in Civil Suit over Girlfriend's Death

I cannot stand Denzel Washington. He is a terrible actor. I hesitate to even call him an actor. He gives the exact same performance in every motherfucking movie. It's the phony "quiet intensity" bullshit in every role. He just stares stoically and pretends there's something behind that.

This got me thinking.

Watched Dunkirk with my other half last night as he hadn't seen it. (He didn't like it)

This morning my housemate asked me what video game we were playing last night? Was it a shooter? Told him it was Dunkirk we were watching.

Made me realise something I hadn't noticed. There's not a lot of dialogue in this film. What there is is just the right amount to and taut and fits its intent perfectly. The father and son on the boat are really the only ones that have much and it all serves to paint their scenario. None almost from the soldiers who are literally walking shell shocked PTSD wrecks.

Hadn't noticed it first time I saw this film

It's interesting how there is almost no dialogue or story or characters or thematic exploration or meaning in that film.

Any list that doesn't include Johnny 5 is lame.

Johnny 5 is a character, not a prop. :shake:

I fucking hate review embargoes and have never understood why media/news organizations agree to them.

Free previews/screenings and an occasional 5-minute interview with some movie star isn't worth being dictated to by a studio.

Talk to me about Red Desert (1964). Who has seen it? What do you think of it? Should I check it out?

I was bummed to have missed this. Also, my friend's nephew has a bit role in the film as a cop. I think he gets a single line?

LV, did you see It? It's tough for me to do a search to confirm this, you know? I think you'd probably love it.

Antonioni is one of the greatest filmmakers to ever live. Anything he made is worth seeking out. I don't love Red Desert, but I've been meaning to revisit it.
