I guess I just don't see "safe" as a bad word here.

I was totally ok with how that played out and thought the saber going to Rey was the best part of the movie.

TFA...I thoroughly enjoyed, but it was a rehash of A New Hope and a very safe choice. I will try to remain optimistic that the next two films are different. I really liked Looper, so that has me excited for TLJ.

Give your ears a massage and listen to this. This guy is totally on point about and will dispel any notions you have about TFA but also makes you realise things you never even thought of.

He did on episode for each film and they're a treasure and a beautiful thing to listen to. Made me see Star Wars a whole other way. He calls it t when they fuck up but on the story he sees it in a much more in depth way than we do. It's 40 minutes or whatever. Give it a go and come back.

Fatman on Batman had Kevin Smith and Marc Bernardin talking about the firing. That terrible movie Trevorrow did a few months ago didn't help him at all.

Of course they didn't wait a day to see that JJ was hired so it's kind of awkward to listen to their thoughts of Ron Howard directing. Why? WHY.

Kevin smiths name is always in the soup of names when the pot is stirred on new directors.
It just never floats to the top.
Someday maybe.

Good lord no.

Though, especially given how KK is running the show over there, he could probably do it in those parameters.
