maybe you should call up your pal EV and ask him what the deal is
like literally, what was the deal - how much did you get paid. and did you donate it all to charity, or did you use it to buy ferraris
and if it was ferraris, did you get the optional hooker blowjob cleanup kit

Yet you're still here.
I mean why does anyone care about this supposed "selling out". It changes nothing about the music or band. I just don't get why this bothers anyone. I'm still here because I don't care if the band does commercials.

but their sense of moral superiority is predicated on them not being sellouts

Sonos sucks though. I dont enjoy the product though i can understand why some might. Its too finicky for me.

Agreed. I wanted to like it but it's a pain in the ass. But now that Pearl Jam is involved I'm completely on board thanks Sonos!!

They've never been morally superior though. They just did things the way they wanted to, and they still are. People put them on pedestals, no one is forced to listen.

Honestly, I don't give a shit about the whole 'selling out thing' that stopped mattering years ago. It's more about the ironic joke of the choice of music used.
I agree with Spenno though, the Target commercial was more embarrassing than anything. It points out the transition I think we've all gone through:
90's Friend: Do you like Pearl Jam? Me: Fuck yeah!
00's Friend: Do you like Pearl Jam? Me: Uh, yeah they're pretty good.
Post Target Commercial Friend: Do you like Pearl Jam? Me: Go fuck yourself.

Don't be so spineless, Sarge. I've never felt one bit of embarrassment about calling PJ my all time favorite band. If people don't get it or think that's lame, I couldn't care less. They're likely the same people that never heard a single PJ song (other than Last Kiss and Just Breathe) after Vs. or Vitalogy. So their opinion about PJ is worthless to me anyway.
