My shot at Let it Ride lyrics:
Let there be no misconceptions This girl is collecting Not with our circumstances But not a victim, defenseless
She's delicate, defiant weary, tells no lies Just ? acceptance
She's gonna, she's gonna gonna let it ride (x2)
like a book with no ending read backwards, to beginning she stands on edge with lifted wings prepare to ascend what she's asking for is promises no more She's through depending
She's gonna, she's gonna, gonna let it ride (x2)
Tears will be alright Death can be denied there will be goodbyes but she'll never leave you
clear and conscious mind exception aside law must step aside let the end bring a freedom
break your body's chains numb without the pain love she stands a name look around, around, you'll be there
Look around, she'll always be there
Some parts I'm not sure of, but that's my shot.

I was just comparing these two songs to some other avocado demos that I have and it doesn't sound like they are from the same batch. These sound a little better, vocals moved to the front a little more. Anyone compare them at all?

Looks like they are loving these over on the Pit too. They are also shitting on LB, FD and O'Briens additions to newer PJ. Those guys have wised up a little in recent years.

The thing I don't get is that this blows a hole in the whole idea that you can either be accessible and mediocre or 'arty' and good; Let It Ride is catchy as hell; was stuck in my head after one listen. You can have it both ways.

Yeah I compared as well - the others are 'rough mixes' that sounds like they're from a cassette tape, while these are properly mastered.
Dicembre 2004 Studio X - Seattle, WA Ed Vedder - vocals, guitar; Stone Gossard - guitar; Mike McCready - guitar; Jeff Ament - bass; Matt Cameron - drum kit, percussion
2x4 Of The Earth Cold Confession World Wide Suicide Marker Armor Crapshoot Rapture Let It Ride

I wanna hear 2x4 and that Of The Earth session pretty bad right now.
"Aw yeah nah we never got that one right in the studio" - I bet they got it spot on the first time around and Ed's as wrong as he was about CC and LIR.

Cold Confession lyric attempt:
He scared himself, into a trance ducking down rivers, secretly He floated out, into the ocean of his worst dream, of his rough sea? of all the men he could trust he was not one of them, always hurting himself this scars and seams?, the wounds are tone whatever time had healed, it's still too cold A life washed away, like words in the sand and when the high tide came, so went his brain a troubled past, a troubled future a troubled way leaning on a bar stool when strobelight stop, he finally saw navigation towards a brand new course but to himself the memory clear cold confession only, that only he could hear
He let himself scream, he let himself cry let himself reach the other side there was on cries, there was no crows just forgiveness, allowed himself accepted the past, then set it free oh and it ran off like an animal with ease he holds the bruise?, he holds their star in his pure arms, in his clear heart He's safe now, he's back in her breast he saw his path, and changed it, chased it, at last

Wow, there's actually been some thought put into these. The lyrics are intelligent and have feeling.
There's no way these will fit on LB.
