Seriously, what happened?
It's as though they accidentally broke Pearl Jam part-way through the recording sessions of the S/T album and they're even now still trying to figure out how to put it back together again.
What a strange and frustrating band.
I dont think the band is incapable of writing music like this. I think they have just decided that singing yeah yeah yeahs during a concert is more enjoyable for them or everyone than playing - good music. That is the unfortunate thing.
So...the South American dates in 2005 are to blame?
I have always thought this. It was a clear turning point to how the band approached their live shows. And with that, came a new approach to their music.
Nope, they did the canadian tour before. Both tours are amazing.

That's the problem, there aren't manufactured crowd responses in these.
That's the shame of it. Maybe they're trying too hard. maybe it has to do with..
skip to 3:55. I think maybe they're over thinking this stuff..

Jesus these are so much better than anything at all they have put out in the last 10 years. They are both better than every.single.song they have decided to actually put to record....it boggles the mind.

So the people that heard the sound check song from a week back, does it sound at all like Cold Confession? I only heard about 60 seconds of the sound check but it seems somewhat similar, but I obviously didn't hear enough of it.
Surely Ten Club LLC is going to get wind of the overwhelmingly positive response, right? I'm sure its not lost on them that at best people were talking themselves into liking the two new Wrigley songs. Maybe someone is going to put two and two together and we can at least get a B-sides album or something.....
