The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

Q: Who else sees a hurricane forecast and finds themselves rooting for destruction?
I have to admit there is a strange feeling when these things are on the news ... it's like you want them to get bigger and really fuck places up
maybe i should be posting this in the 'are you evil' thread
i dont really want destruction
but i have come to realize that reflexively, I don't seem to associate these coming storms with the level of tragedy that they really entail
i blame the television

Hey WM, what's the forecast for Houston? I read that Corpus Christi was in harm's way, and that's real close to you, right?
Corpus is four hours down the coast. Really worried about them over there. Port Aransas too. Lots of beautiful coastline that will erode then naturally renew. A couple of landmark ice houses in Port A that probably won't make it. I just hope everyone had the sense to evacuate.
We should get heavy rains and floods over the next few days in Houston but we're used to it by now. They don't call it the bayou city for nothing.
