In the mood to share some recordings of various bands ive been invovled with over the years. Been walking down memory lane with a buddy of mine recently and I greatly miss playing/recording with musicians. Anyways, here are a couple I enjoy.

Partially Awake: https://soundcloud.com/62strat/partially-awake
- Im actually super proud of this song. I remember it coming about within 20 minutes or so. The other guitarist I was playing with in this band is super incredible and it was a great time playing off each other.

Rings: https://soundcloud.com/62strat/rings
This one is totally self indulgent but we all enjoyed playing the song. This one I really loved playing with the other guitarist. I also really love the guitar lines in the chorus. Kind of ridiculous but I enjoy it

Stairs: https://soundcloud.com/62strat/stairs

Pretty straight forward song.

So, thanks for listening if you do!

Dig the music. Not really into the vocals but you guys are good. I'll follow you on Soundcloud.

One thing I've noticed is that most of the RMers who write their own tunes never write songs that sound like PJ. I'm glad.

Thanks bada! Yea, he has the standard rock voice. He definitely got much better over the years. Ive been playing music with him since I was 19 or so and he never really found his voice till recently. However, we dont play music anymore :(

I miss writing/recording. That band was just a riot to play with. It was a short and sweet stint that started out by getting together to be part of a Doors tribute show. Biggest crowd I ever played for (+/- 750). The other guitarist in the band is a music major/jazz guitarist and to watch him improv on the spot and write complementary guitar pieces was pretty exciting and fun to play along with.

Since this thread is blowing up here I thought I'd toss in another tune:

About Robot Takeover, obviously. From a live show about 10 years ago. out of tune guitars but whatever. I always liked this song

https://soundcloud.com/62strat/mixed
This song was recorded through garage band out on my buddies 60 acre parcel in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. His grandpa built a cabin out there. Felt like we were part of Crazy Horse Ranch or something. Drank a lot of beer and just started fucking around. I really like his voice. Great scream at the end. Late night porch stomping drunken mess!

Lol. This is funny.

We often get together once a year for a "holiday" show at a club downtown Minneapolis. this was a couple years ago now but my "normal" band wasn't able to pull it together so we put together a couple other friends and tossed some songs together. We never once rehearsed with the drummer (very obvious in this performance) but still had a good time. We sound checked with the drummer for 30 seconds of a different song but this was the first time we played it through with him. Of course it falls apart before the bridge. Lol. Drunk good times though.

We closed the set with "my morning song" by the black crowes and actually nailed it all the way through so this is hilarious to me.

that was f*cking lovely.

What the hell is wrong with you thinking something is wrong with your singing? Your singing is not just ordinary, it's unique and good. It is not stupid at all. what is wrong with you?

did you write that?
it's f*cking good.

I tried to download it, but it's not a choice

That is very swee, thank you. I did not write it. It is a zombies song that I always thought would be great translated to the Ukulele! Thanks for the words KT.

I haven't been creatively inspired in a few years. I dont really write music anymore and dont have a band. Sure, few jam sessions here and there but nothing that is actually exciting to me.

Yea, i dont shut up about yoga some times, and i was super hesitant to be one of those guys who plays guitar in yoga but....

After 2 years of hustling by my girlfriend to do it....i finally caved and i fucking loved it. Sure, it might be weird, strange, and stupid to many people of RM, but i have not felt this creatively excited in a long time. I get up there and put songs together to help facilitate the yoga practice. People fucking love it. Throw some loops down, create an atmosphere or groove and just have fun with it. White people love doing yoga to music and it is generally dudes with man buns playing Jack Johnston or bob marley songs. If you're lucky, maybe somebody will play a hand drum. I feel like im doing something a little more creative and unique. Certainly for this environment.

Anyway, here are two things i've played in class. I spent yesterday recording and putzing around with them.

https://soundcloud.com/bdahlen21/savasana-9-30-18-11

I love it.
