The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
I've only ever used Wacom stuff, so i can't speak to the alternatives. But none of my Wacoms have ever died on me or given me problems. They're worth the price if you can afford them.

My buddy’s been using Wacom Cintiqs for over ten years and he’s had all sorts of issues with them, dying, slowing down and whatnot. I think he’s on his third? Seems like it’s typical planned obsolescence stuff, but might be too much of an investment unless you’re my friend or Burt, making a living on your art.

I just clarified with him. He’s on his third in six years, but his second one totally died after just two weeks of ownership, due to a manufacturing defect. So make of that what you will.

I've had my Cintiq for about 8 years and its still going strong. It had a dead pixel when I bought it, which is usually a very bad sign, but I haven't had any problems with it. The driver updates are shitty sometimes, but I haven't had any trouble lately.
I've used everything from little Bamboos to the giant Cintiq HDs, and they are all pretty sturdy.

What's the best entry level model?
I like the Intuos tablets, but a lot of people find it weird to look at a monitor while you draw on the desk. I think most can get used to it in a couple weeks. They are actually better on my back. And they are cheap.
I guess the Wacom One is their new entry level Cintiq-like ones. Don't know much about it, but it's probably better than the one I use now.
But for most people, an iPad with Procreate would probably be plenty. Unless you want to run Photoshop, it probably has everything you need to play around with.

Can you draw me throwing a box of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at a nurse and telling her to "shut the fuck up and just take it all, I don't give a shit anymore."??

Problems with people. The distribution is going just about exactly as I expected.
